Director of Engagement - USY
Marc serves as the Director of Engagement for all of USY. Marc himself has a lifelong connection to USY going all the way back to his time attending CHUSY Encampment as a young child where his father served as camp doctor. Marc then grew up in CHUSY Region (the Chicago area region of USY) serving in multiple positions on chapter and regional boards throughout his time in USY. Marc started officially working with USY at the chapter level over 16 years ago on the youth staff at Congregation Beth Judea in Long Grove, IL. Marc has a degree from Northeastern Illinois University in Education where he graduated summa cum laude. Marc has many years of experience in both business and education having worked for many years helping to train new employees in large restaurant corporations before making the move to teaching in public school where he spent five years teaching elementary and middle school (primarily middle school history) prior to coming to work for USCJ/USY full time in 2018. Marc has received numerous honors for his work, including being named by JUF Chicago as one of the 36 Under 36 in 2018 and then subsequently being honored with the T'ruma award in 2022 for his dedication to youth in the Chicagoland area. Since joining USCJ/USY Marc has worked with many different regions and in many different capacities prior to his current role overseeing engagement across North America. Outside of his time in USY, Marc enjoys spending time in the suburbs of Chicago (where he currently resides) with his wife and three kids, and their dogs, Ginger and Heinz.
